Herzig Named Academic All-Patriot
HAMILTON – Robbie Herzig of the Colgate golf team has been named to the five-player Academic All-Patriot League Team, announced Friday afternoon.
Herzig added to his postseason collection after garnering All-Patriot League First Team honors for his fifth-place finish at last weekend's championship. The junior helped lead the Raiders to a second-place finish, matching the team's best championship finish in program history.
An economics and chinese double major from New York, N.Y., Herzig posted a 74.8 scoring average, second-best on the team, with seven rounds under par. He competed in 11 tournaments and a team-best 28 rounds with four top-five finishes.
The two-time All-Patriot League selection won the Duel at Bartlett against St. Bonaventure with the lowest single-round (63) and relation to par (-8) in program history.
To be eligible for the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Patriot League awards, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average as an undergraduate AND graduate (if applicable) and be a starter or key player in their sport. Nominees must have completed at least one academic year at their institution.
