Herzig Hauls in Patriot Golfer of the Week
HAMILTON – For the second time in as many weeks, Colgate Golf has landed the Patriot League Golfer of the Week, and this time it's Robbie Herzig after he finished third at Binghamton's Matthews Auto Collegiate last weekend at The Links at Hiawatha.
This is the third time in four fall tournaments that Colgate has brought home the Patriot League Golfer of the Week. Herzig's second honor of the semester came on the heels of his final-round 67 on Monday that vaulted him to five-under for the tournament and a third-place finish.
The senior buried six birdies in the closing round to tie Iona's Sean Richards for the lowest single-round score of the tournament. He finished with a 139 (-5) two-day scorecard after he posted an even-par 72 in the opening round on Sunday.
Herzig was named Golfer of the Week after the annual Alex Lagowitz Memorial, where he also fired a 67 and finished fourth on the individual leaderboard. He was joined by Brayden Dock, who claimed the award last weekend after finishing fourth in the Autumn Invitational.
