CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — Colgate's Pierson Brandon earned ECAC Hockey Defender of the Week, announced by the league Monday.
Brandon put together a four-point performance in the Raiders' 6-2 defeat of RPI last Friday, recording two goals and two assists, matching his career-high in both goals and points. It marked his third multi-point game this season. Additionally, Brandon went a season-best +4.
The Raiders' captain scored the second and fourth goals of the game and provided helpers on the first and fifth tallies.
Brandon also blocked four shots over the weekend, recording two on Friday and another two on Saturday in a 4-3 win over Union.
Colgate is off this weekend after earning the No. 3 seed and a first-round bye in the ECAC playoffs. The Raiders will host a quarterfinal series March 15-17 against the third-lowest remaining seed. Tickets go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m.
