HAMILTON — Colgate picked up a 4-3 victory on senior night to wrap up the regular season at the Class of 1965 Arena on Saturday.

HAMILTON — Colgate picked up a 4-3 victory on senior night to wrap up the regular season at the Class of 1965 Arena on Saturday. The Raiders honored Pierson Brandon, Ross Mitton, Levi Glasman, Nick Anderson, and Carter Gylander before the game.

The victory marked Colgate's eighth straight at the Class of 1965 Arena, ending the season on a high note going into its ECAC Hockey playoff first-round bye.

"I'm happy to finish the season in a strong position and excited to begin the next, a more important chapter," said head coach Mike Harder.

Ryan Sullivan scored twice and dished out an assist for a three-point performance. Brett Chorske also recorded three points (1G, 2A), while Alex DiPaolo logged two helpers.

Sullivan got Colgate off to a quick start, scoring 1:17 into the game. A loose puck got tipped by Chorske to DiPaolo, who hit it to Sullivan. The first-year then skated in and beat the netminder. The Garnet Chargers knotted the score at 1-1 with just under four minutes left after Ville Immonen found the back of the net on a power play.

Daniel Panetta put his squad back up by a score of 2-1 at the 6:22 mark of the second when he stole a puck away from a Union player in the Raiders' offensive zone and fired in a shot. Chorske extended the lead to 3-1 eight minutes later when he ripped a shot that bounced off the goalie's pads and went in. Anderson and Sullivan picked up assists on the play.

Union cut the deficit back to one twice in the third. Chaz Smedsrud scored 31 seconds into the period to make it 3-2. Sullivan then notched his second tally at the 11:14 point to make it a two-goal contest again after he fired one home off of passes from Chorske and DiPaolo.

With 1:39 left in the game, Caden Villegas scored an extra attacker goal to bring it back to one at 4-3. The Garnet Chargers could not find an equalizer in the remaining time.

Carter Gylander stopped 22 shots in net, including nine in the first period to pick up the victory.
