HAMILTON — Colgate fell 13-7 to No. 6 Army Saturday afternoon at Andy Kerr Stadium.

COACH KARWECK'S COMMENTS
"Our effort was there today. We were flying around, putting our bodies on the line, and the guys did a great job with that. Our execution, on the other hand, was not great, and I need to coach these situations better. Army did a good job attacking us in transition. We're getting better, but Army is a good team, and I have unbelievable respect for Coach Alberici. We just have to be sharper in certain areas and score more than seven goals."

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Colgate got two late goals in the fourth, with Patty Eldredge netting his first of the season, followed by Rory Connor registering his second of the game, putting the score at 13-7.
  • The Black Knights held the Raiders off the scoreboard in the third and added four more tallies to pull back up seven at 12-5.
  • Colgate ended the second on a 4-1 run to pull within three. It started with a man-up goal from Ryan Favaro. Rory Connor also put one in on a power play with 1:42 remaining, and Jack Turner followed 47 seconds later. Ben Trumble beat the buzzer to make it 8-5 Army going into halftime.
  • The Black Knights took a six-goal lead at 7-1 with 5:40 left after notching three straight tallies.
  • Liam Connor notched the Raiders' first goal at the 10:50 mark of the 1st, making the score 4-1.
  • Army got off to a quick start, pulling ahead 4-0 by the end of the first.
