BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Colgate long stick midfielder Max Yates earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday.

Yates logged a season-high five caused turnovers in the Raiders' 17-4 victory at Bucknell last Saturday, also tying his career best. Additionally, he scooped up eight ground balls to lead the team, marking his fifth game this season with seven or more in a contest.

The junior spearheaded Colgate's defense, holding Bucknell to four goals, including one in the final three quarters. It is the fewest goals the Raiders have allowed in a game this season.

Yates leads the Patriot League with 21 caused turnovers, averaging 2.33 per game, ranking second-best. He has picked up 55 ground balls and averages 6.11 per contest, both of which sit second-best in the conference.

This is the second time this season that the Fairfield, Conn., native has taken home Defensive Player of the Week after he picked up the honor on Feb. 5.

The Raiders have a bye week but return to action Saturday, March 30, with a 12 p.m. game at Navy.
