Eric Summers '91 Named Men's Rowing Assistant Coach

HAMILTON — Colgate men's rowing head coach Khaled Sanad announced the addition of Eric Summers '91 as the program's new assistant coach.

HAMILTON — Colgate men's rowing head coach Khaled Sanad announced the addition of Eric Summers '91 as the program's new assistant coach.
 
Summers brings over 20 years of coaching and collegiate athletics experience to the Raiders' staff.

Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of the Syracuse Chargers Rowing Club for over a year. Summers spent eight years as the Associate Director of Athletics at SUNY Oswego from 2014 until 2022, including two stints as the Interim Director of Athletics.

Before his time at Oswego, Summers worked as the head men's and women's rowing coach at nearby Hamilton College from 2004-2014. He also gained experience working as a national sculling coach for the Angolan Rowing Federation from 2009 to 2010.

This will be Summers' second stint as Colgate employee after working for the University from 1998-2004, starting as the Raiders' Varsity Men/Novice Women's coach, a position he held for his first two years. He also served as the Associate Director of the Annual Fund and the Senior Assistant Director of Career Services.
 
Summers was the Varsity Men's Coach/Boatwright at the University of Miami for a year. He got his start in coaching as a graduate assistant for the Syracuse University women's team.
 
Summers earned his bachelor's degree in Economics from Colgate in 1991, then received his MBA from Syracuse in 1997.
