Raiders Honored By IRA and IRCA
HAMILTON — Members of the Colgate men's rowing team earned academic honors from both the Intercollegiate Rowing Association and the Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association. A total of 11 student-athletes were named to the IRA All-Academic Team and seven were also named Empacher-IRCA Scholar-Athletes.

Harrison Zeigler (Jr., Philosophy and Political Science) - Empacher-IRCA Scholar-Athlete and IRA All-Academic
This is the third year in a row that Feeney and Smith were named Scholar-Athletes, and it's the second straight year that Clark, Kalter, Rice, and Zeigler have earned the accolade.
Additionally, Barkoff, Clark, Feeney, and Smith earned IRA honors for the third-straight year, while Kalter and Zeigler got named to the list for the second consecutive year.
To be honored by the IRCA, rowers, and coxswains must be in their second year or more of eligibility at a member school and have raced in one of the team's top-three boats or at the 2023 IRA National Championship. The student-athlete must also hold a 3.50 cumulative GPA through the fall 2022 semester.
In order to be recognized by the IRA, a student-athlete must have completed one full year at their institution (can not be a freshman or first-year transfer) and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.35 or higher. They must also be an institutional letter winner and have competed at the IRA National Championship.
A total of 638 rowers and coxswains from 64 different teams were honored by the IRCA this year, and 348 student-athletes from 23 member schools were recognized by the IRA.
