Varsity Eight Takes Eighth at the Head of the Charles

RESULTS

RESULTS

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Colgate men's rowing opened its fall season at the Head of the Charles Sunday, with the varsity eight placed eighth out of 42 boats.

Racing at one of the largest regattas in the world, the Raiders' top boat put on a strong performance, logging a time of 15:43.261.

Colgate finished within three seconds of the next two boats from Notre Dame and Holy Cross and also came in less than 10 seconds behind crews from Temple, Williams, and Wesleyan. The boat beat out the next one behind it from MIT by six seconds and also defeated crews from Trinity, Drexel, Bates, St. Joseph's, and Virginia.

The eighth-place result marks the boat's second-straight top-10 finish at the regatta. It also falls just one spot behind last year's finish.

UP NEXT
The Raiders are back at it next Saturday when they travel to Philadelphia to race at the Head of the Schuylkill.
