Raiders' Novice Eight Places Sixth, Championship Eight Takes 13th
PHILADELPHIA — Colgate men's rowing competed in its second and final regatta of the fall season, racing at the Head of the Schuylkill. The varsity eight and novice eight boats took the water.
ASSISTANT COACH SUMMERS' COMMENTS
"We had a solid day of racing. Our Frosh/Novice eight had a good row with two of our walk-ons racing for the first time. Our Championship eight placed well in a tough field and beat some crews that were ahead of us last week in Boston."
NOVICE EIGHT
- The Raiders' novice eight recorded a time of 12:31.977, good for sixth out of 18 boats.
- Colgate came in less than a second behind the next crew from Temple, which crossed the finish line in 12:31.107.
- The boat also came in shortly behind Temple and Drexel.
- Colgate cruised ahead of George Washington, Army, and Delaware, defeating the boats by seven seconds or more.
CHAMPIONSHIP EIGHT
- Colgate placed 13th out of 22 boats in the Championship Eights race, posting a time of 11:41.708.
- The Raiders came in five seconds behind the next boat from Columbia.
- The crew beat out Navy by under a second and defeated boats from Marietta, another from Navy, and St. Joe's by over five seconds.
