Raiders Compete in Utica Pioneer Spring Invite
UTICA – The Colgate Men's and Women's Track and Field team competed in the Utica Pioneer Spring Invite this weekend in Utica, N.Y.
WOMEN
Kiran George won the 100m hurdles with an AARTFC record time of 14.85. George was able to take home the silver in the high jump with a leap of 1.57m. Elizabeth Manly finished third in the 100m hurdles.
Melinda Haagensen continued her dominant run this season in the Pole Vault with another record 3.80m vault. Julianna Hallyburton finished second and Elizabeth Driscoll posted a fourth place finish in the event. Haagensen also finished fourth in the Long Jump.
Carollin Mellin took home the gold in the 1500m run crossing the finish line at 4:54.93.
Katherine Wand posted a second place finish in the Javelin Throw with a 35.61m throw. Whitney Smith finished fourth in the event.
Izabella Toscano finished fourth in the 400m dash with a 1:04.52 finish.
The Colgate women's track and field team finished third out of 17 teams in the overall event rankings.
MEN
Cole Blair broke the facility record in the Long Jump with a massive 7.14m jump. Blair took home the gold in the event.
Sam Epstein broke the AARTFC record and won the Pole Vault with a vault of 4.55m.
Henry Lewinsohn finished second in the Javelin Throw with a toss of 53.70m. Ethan Rifkin finished just behind Lewinsohn in third.
Jack Gabrielle took home the silver in the 800m run with a time of 2:00.69.
Nick Johnson came fifth in the discus throw and fourth in the hammer throw.
The Colgate men's track and field team finished fifth out of 16 teams in the overall event rankings.

Colgate will travel to Lewisburg, Pa. to compete in the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic next weekend, Friday, Apr. 12 - Sunday, Apr. 14.
