Holland and Horner Earn Academic All-Patriot Honors
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate Track and field's Owen Holland and Ben Horner were voted to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the conference announced Friday.
Holland earned Academic All-Patriot honors for cross country in the fall and has been on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll each of his first two seasons. The junior competed in the 3000m run and 5000m run throughout the indoor season, Holland won the 5000m run at the Ramapo Opener finishing at 15:03.46.
Horner has earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in each of his first two seasons and earned his first Academic All-Patriot League Team honor. The junior had a number of podium finishes this indoor season capped off by a third place finish in the distance medley breaking the school record for the event with a time of 9:53.21, at the Patriot League Championships.
Both Holland and Horner return to action at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C. This will be the first meet of the outdoor season held from Mar. 14 - Mar. 16.
