Raiders Fall in Patriot League Semi Final, 52-40
HAMILTON – Colgate saw its Patriot League season come to an unfortunate end with a 52-40 loss to Boston University on Thursday night at Cotterell Court.
Alexa Brodie equalled the Colgate record for game played in a career, suiting up for her 122nd game.
Sophia Diehl scored 10 points and added six rebounds in tonight's loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Colgate was never able to get anything going, taking their only lead of the night on a Taylor Golembiewski 3-pointer two minutes into the game that gave the Raiders a 5-4 advantage. Diehl was able to hit a triple with 1:44 left in the first quarter to cut the deficit to 17-12.
Brodie nailed a jumper at the start of the second quarter but Boston was able to take a 31-18 lead into half using a 12-4 run the rest of the second quarter.
Diehl and Brodie each netted a bucket at the start of the second half but Boston was equal to it all night keeping the Terriers ahead 37-22. The Raiders trailed 45-33 going into the final frame.
Amarah Streiff drilled a triple at the beginning of the fourth quarter giving Colgate some momentum but neither team was able to score for long stretches of the fourth quarter and Madison Schiller hit a deep three with 1:19 left as the Raiders fell in the Patriot League Semi Final, 52-40.
Colgate shot 20.3 percent (12-for-59) from the floor and 20.8 percent (5-for-24) from three.
