Colgate Raiders (4-2)
The Raiders enter the tournament fresh off a win against St. Bonaventure on Saturday. Colgate matched its highest point total of the season scoring 82 points to beat the Bonnies. Four players scored in double figures led by junior Anne Bair who scored 15 points.
Bair is one of three players averaging double figures for Colgate. Taylor Golembiewski leads the Raiders averaging l5.5 points per game, Bair averages 14.4 points per game and Sophia Diehl is scoring 12.3 points per game. Bair also leads the team in assists, logging 4.7 assists per game while also averaging 1.5 steals per game.
Colgate beat UMBC, 57-51, when it played the Retrievers last November. The Raiders are undefeated at home this season.
UMBC Retrievers (3-3)
The Retrievers dropped to .500 with its recent 10-point loss to Manhattan and are likely eager to get back on track against Colgate.
Graduate student Jordon Lewis, who's averaging 12.3 points per game, leads UMBC's charge.
UMBC is outscoring opponents by 1.5 and averaging more assists, too, with 9.3 a game — doing just enough to earn an even record.
Rebounding, however, has been a challenge. Opponents average 7.2 more boards per game than the Retrievers.
Akron Zips (2-4)
The Zips enter the Colgate Thanksgiving Tournament on a two-game losing streak. Akron has yet to win a game on the road, falling most recently to Bellarmine in Louisville.
Opponents are outscoring (2.3 points per game) and out rebounding (2 rebounds per game) Akron.
The Zips, however, have five players averaging double figures through their opening six games. Sophomore guard Teneisha Clarke leads the way with 11.4 points per game and senior Alexus Mobley nets 11.8 points per game.
Iona Gaels (0-4)
The Gaels seek their first win of the season at the tournament.
Iona has struggled with lopsided losses in three of four of its defeats. It came close to a victory against Navy but fell by two points.
Opponents have outscored the Gaels by 24.5 points per game and out rebounded them by 9.5 boards per game.
Judith Gomez and Zoey Ward both lead the team averaging at least eight points per game.
