HAMILTON – After the Raiders' best finish in regular season play since the 2003/2004 season, second-seeded Colgate is set to take on seventh-seeded Navy Midshipmen on Monday, March 11 at 6 p.m. The quarterfinal game will be streamed on ESPN+.

Colgate enters the tournament winning five of their last six contests and scoring 70 or more points in four of the five. The finale of the regular season was celebrated with a historic 77-40 victory over Boston University.

MATCHUP HISTORY
This will be the 72nd all-time meeting between Colgate and Navy with the two splitting the regular season series, both teams earning the victory on home soil. In the most recent matchup in Annapolis on Feb 3, Navy was able to edge the Raiders 59-58. The loss was Colgate's sixth straight in the middle of the Patriot League season before they bounced back winning five of the next six contests that followed. In the first game back on Jan. 6, Colgate was able to use a 45 point second half and cruise to a 73-56 victory over the Midshipmen. These two teams haven't met in Patriot League Tournament action in over two decades as Navy beat Colgate, 60-59 back in 1999.

DEFENSIVE IDENTITY
The Raiders enter the postseason ranking among the top teams in the nation defensively. Colgate ranks third in the country in 3-point percentage defensive forcing opposing teams to shoot just 24.3 percent from long range. The Raiders also sit at 20th in the nation in scoring defense allowing 55.9 points per game through 29 contests. Thanks in large part to the heart of the defensive identity, fifth-year captain, Alexa Brodie. Brodie earned a selection on the five-player Patriot League All-Defensive Team.

SHARING IS CARING
In the final seven games of the regular season, the Raiders posted 10 scorers on the scoresheet three times and eight or more scorers in all seven games. Colgate ranks third in the Patriot League averaging 15.66 assists per game and both Brodie (2.7) and Madison Schiller (2.7) sit in the top 15 in assists per game.

RAIDERS NEARING HISTORY
This past week two members of the team received accolades for the season. Junior guard Taylor Golembiewski and fifth year guard Alexa Brodie were each selected to the All-Patriot Second Team. Brodie also earned a spot on the Patriot League All-Defensive Team. Both Raiders are within touching distance of eclipsing 1,000 points for their respective career's. Brodie sits at 998 points going into Colgate's quarterfinal, just two points shy of becoming the 22nd player in program history to achieve this mark. Golembiewski needs only six points on Wednesday to etch her name into the record books. If both players manage to reach this incredible total, this will be the first time since the 2003/2004 season the Raiders have two active players sitting in the 1,000 point club.

UP NEXT
The winner of Monday's matchup earns a trip to the semifinals, where they will take on the winner of the (3) Boston University vs. (6) Army quarterfinal contest. The game will be played at the higher seed on Thursday, March 14, with game time to be determined. It will be available on ESPN+.
