Murphy Garners NFHCA All-Region Honors
GENEVA, N.Y. — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association released its Division I All-Region teams Wednesday, with Colgate's Ella Murphy getting named to the Mideast Region Second Team.
A 2023 All-Patriot League First Team selection, Murphy earned All-Region honors for the first time after a standout final season that saw her register 16 points with four goals and a career-high eight assists.
Murphy led Colgate in goals, assists, and points. She finished tied for second in the Patriot League in assists and fell tied for eighth in points. The senior was a key piece on the field for the Raiders, averaging 53.58 minutes per game and playing the full 60 minutes in three contests, including two that went into overtime. She started all 12 games she played.
Additionally, Murphy fired 49 shots, fourth-most in the conference, putting 24 on target, ranking fifth-most. She averaged 4.08 shots per game, good for second-best in the Patriot League.
The midfielder logged four points, tallying a goal and two helpers at Cornell. Murphy also recorded two three-point performances this season, with a goal and an assist at Saint Louis and the same in a home contest against Dartmouth. She logged a point in six of the final seven games, which included a three-game goal streak.
