LEWISBURG, Pa. — A strong first half helped propel Bucknell to a 5-0 victory over Colgate in both teams' final Patriot League game of the season Saturday.

The Bison opened the scoring with 6:03 left in the first when Kira Leclercq found the back of the cage. Bucknell added two more in the second to take a 3-0 lead into the halftime break. The Bison then scored another two in the third, pushing their advantage to five.

Colgate had a couple of good chances early in the first. Dani Palmer fired a shot 43 seconds in that got blocked. Hannah Marcotrigiano also had a look from right in front of the goal at just over the five-minute mark, but it got saved by the goalie.

After Colgate had limited chances in the second and third quarters, Sarah Killcommons had an opportunity right at the start of the fourth when she ripped one that landed off target.

The Raiders' defense held strong in the fourth, keeping Bucknell off the scoreboard and holding it to two shots. The Bison had a pair of penalty corners in the quarter that Colgate's backline fended off.

Goalkeeper Claire van Kempen made four saves in the first quarter, shutting down several Bucknell scoring chances, including back-to-back stops with under 30 seconds remaining. She finished with eight saves in the game. Abby Williams also denied the Bison with a defensive save in the first.
