Raiders Fall in Thriller Against Army

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Army jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first seven minutes of the game.
- Ella Bishara snuck inside and scored the Raiders lone first quarter goal but Colgate was behind 6-1 after the first 15 minutes.
- Kendall Belanger ripped a shot into the top left before Bishara converted a free position to get the Raiders within four.
- Kait Henning drove down the alley and shot it off the post to put Colgate down 7-4 and force an Army timeout.
- Aubrey McMahon scored 11 seconds later to cut the deficit to just two but the Black Knights responded with a goal shortly after.
- Bishara completed her first half hat trick with a crafty goal inside to get back within two.
- Henning started behind the net and used a reversal to fire it into the top left to cut the score to 8-7 but Army answered with a free-position goal.
- Belanger converted a free-position with 18 seconds left in the first half and Colgate trailed 9-8 at the halftime break.
- Army scored three quick goals to start the second half and push its lead to 12-8.
- Caroline Panzirer found Olivia McDonald on the doorstep before Panzirer scored a goal of her own to slash the deficit to two.
- The Black Knights scored two goals to finish the third and take a 14-11 lead into the fourth.
- Colgate dropped another before McMahon and Belanger scored two quick goals.
- Bishara buried another to cut the deficit to two but Army scored another to push the advantage to three.
- Bishara found Panzirer on the doorstep and she buried top left before Bishara netted her fifth of the game to cut the score to 17-16 with one minute remaining.
- The Raiders were unable to secure the ball in the final minute and fell 17-16.
GAME NOTES
- Ella Bishara finished the regular season with a goal in every game including five against Army. The junior finished the regular season with the second most goals on the team (35).
- Lucy Licata added six draw controls to her season total bringing her total to 152 draw controls.
- Nelle Kniffin added two caused turnovers, two ground balls, and four draw controls to her team leading 28 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers.
- Caroline Panzirer wrapped up her regular season with 63 points, leading the team in both goals (39) and assists (24).
- Aubrey McMahon sits second on the team in assists (13) and points (46) headed to the postseason.
