Colgate Loses to Siena, 16-9
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Kyra Lucey scored a hat trick and added one assist as the Raiders fell 16-9 to Siena at Hickey Field Tuesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After falling behind 2-0 early in the first half, Caroline Panzirer was able to score back-to-back goals to tie the game at two. Panzirer now has a team-high 18 points this year.
Siena was able to jump back into the lead a minute later and went on to score five unanswered to end the second quarter pushing their advantage to 7-2.
Kendall Belanger tallied her first and second goal of the season in the third quarter, however Siena was able to match it each time and a Sarah Marcovici goal to end the third quarter cut the deficit to 11-6.
Siena scored four straight goals at the start of the fourth frame before Abby Iacovelli converted a free-position opportunity for her first goal of the season. Kyra Lucey completed her hat trick with 10 seconds left on the clock but ultimately Colgate fell 16-9.
UP NEXT
The Raiders (0-7, 0-1) return to Hamilton on Saturday, Mar. 16 to take on Navy in their second Patriot League matchup of the season. The game is scheduled for 12 p.m.
