Colgate Names Alyssa Guido Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach
HAMILTON — Alyssa Guido has been named Colgate University's new head women's lacrosse coach, Vice President and Director of Athletics Yariv Amir '01 announced Thursday.
Guido spent three years as the associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Drexel University, helping the Dragons win their first-ever Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) championship in 2022 and guiding the program to three-straight NCAA tournaments. She accumulated a 37-20 record in her time with the Dragons.
"From the start of the search process, Alyssa's enthusiasm, passion for the sport of lacrosse, and commitment to the student-athlete experience was palpable," said Amir. "We are excited about the vision she brings to the women's lacrosse program and having her lead the team into the next chapter."
Drexel posted a 13-6 record in 2024, picking up two wins over nationally ranked opponents.The Dragons went 7-1 in CAA action, their most conference wins in program history.
On the heels of the program's fourth straight NCAA tournament appearance in 2024, Guido was named an assistant coach for the Philippines Senior National Team at the Asia Pacific Lacrosse Championship World Qualifier. Her duties included working with the offensive unit and draw team.

Athletics and Academic Success at Drexel
Guido coached two-time All-American and CAA Attacker of the Year Corinne Bednarik. Nine Dragon offensive players garnered All-CAA accolades, and three earned All-Rookie honors during her time in Philadelphia.
Guido also served as Drexel's goalkeeper coach, mentoring two-time All-American Jenika Cuocco, who earned CAA Goalkeeper of the Year for the second-straight season in 2024 and was the CAA Rookie of the Year in 2023.
Two Dragons earned Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area honors during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, and 15 were selected to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll in 2023.
Patriot League Familiarity
Guido spent the 2021 season as an assistant coach at Holy Cross, helping one Crusader attacker earn All-Patriot League Second Team honors.
Head Coaching Experience
Guido was the head coach at Division III SUNY Maritime for two years. She earned Skyline Conference Coach of the Year in 2019 after guiding the Privateers to their first-ever winning season and their most victories in a season. Maritime also clinched its first conference tournament berth in program history.
In 2020, Guido led the Privateers to a 4-1 start, including their second-straight Maritime Cup victory.
Playing Career and Personal Background
A four-year letter winner at Stony Brook, Guido totaled 77 points with 28 goals and 49 assists in 68 career games. She helped the Seawolves to a 72-11 record, winning four straight America East regular season and tournament titles.
Guido graduated in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Health Science.
She played professionally with the Philadelphia Force of the United Women's Lacrosse League in 2017.
Guido's coaching career started with Team 91 Lacrosse. She worked with the club for eight years, serving as Girls Director, Account Manager, and head coach.
