Varsity Eight Claims Patriot League Boat of the Week
HAMILTON – Coming off a successful win at High Point on Saturday, the Colgate women's rowing team's Varsity Eight captured Patriot League Boat of the Week, announced Tuesday.
Colgate sent three boats to the three-team battle on Lake Brandt in Greensboro, N.C., hosted by High Point. The Raiders coming off spring break action opened their 2025 season with a strong showing, headlined by the varsity eight taking first place in the race.
Colgate's Colgate's 1v8 took first place with a time of 6:50.05, crossing the line ahead of second-place High Point (6:59.1) and third-place Marist (7:03.6). The winning boat included Katherine Metcalf (C), Marie Clausen, Natalie McCall, Elena Myatt, Sarah Slember, Audrey Brogan, Ellie Givertz-Steel, Harper Hoffman, and Stella Curcio.
This is the first Patriot League Boat of the Week honor on record for the Raiders, who return to action on Saturday facing Cornell and George Washington in Ithaca, N.Y.
