Three Raiders Collect All-League Honors
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Patriot League announced its women's soccer postseason awards on Friday with Ari Bezanson and Olivia Anderson earning First Team All-League honors and Ellie Stokes being named Second Team All-League.
This is Bezanson's second consecutive First Team selection, Anderson's second straight All-League selection, and Stokes' first time earning a postseason honor.
Bezanson finished the regular season with 14 goals and one assist, tallying 29 points. The Danvers, Mass. native sits seventh in the nation in goals and second in the conference in points.
The junior netted four game-winning goals, which ranks third in the conference. Bezanson scored in all but three Patriot League games this season, including a six-game goal streak which included game-winning goals against Navy, American, and Lafayette.
Anderson earned her second postseason honor of her career after collecting Second Team All-League honors last season. The Danvers, Mass. native played the second most minutes on the team finishing with 1464. The senior helped Colgate earn two clean sheets this season and has been able to tally two assists. Anderson assisted the tying goal with five minutes left to earn a point against Lehigh.
Stokes earns her first postseason honor after posting three goals and six assists this season. Stokes' six assists ranks second in the Patriot League.
The Waldorf, Md. native provided five of her six assists in Patriot League play including two against Boston University. Stokes netted her third goal of the season on Wednesday against Holy Cross. The junior played 1049 minutes this season, seventh most on the Raiders roster and the most among Raider attackers.
Colgate earned the fifth seed heading into the Patriot League Tournament and will take a trip to Baltimore, Md. to match up with Loyola Maryland in a rematch of last season's Patriot League Quarterfinal. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3.
