HAMILTON — Colgate scored three goals in seven minutes during the second half to take a 3-0 win over Holy Cross at Beyer-Small '76 Field Wednesday evening.

With the victory, the Raiders clinched the No. 6 seed in the Patriot League tournament and head to Baltimore to take on No. 3 Loyola in the quarterfinals Sunday at 2 p.m. Colgate is postseason-bound for the first time since the 2020-21 season when it made a run to the championship game.

Paige Foa opened the scoring in the 59th minute. Olivia Anderson played a cross that Foa settled at the top of the box with a defender on her back. The junior then turned and ripped a shot into the top left corner to put her team ahead.

A minute and 44 seconds later, Ari Bezanson notched her sixth goal of the season to double Colgate's lead. Foa played a beautiful ball to Ally Giovino, who dribbled into the box and got past a defender and a sliding goalkeeper, then played a soft pass across the goal line that Bezanson tapped in.

Sophomore Gillian Yonce notched her first career goal in the 66th minute to make it 3-0. Bezanson got through a Crusader slide tackle and beat two other defenders to get into the box before dishing a pass to Yonce, who slotted a shot over the Holy Cross goalie after she came off her line.

The Raiders played the final 22 minutes down a player after being assessed a red card. Colgate's backline fended off two late Holy Cross chances in the last two and a half minutes with a pair of shots and a corner kick.

The first half saw no score from either side despite some good opportunities for the Raiders. In the 19th minute, Foa ripped one following a Colgate free kick that landed wide. Demi Maroudas also had a chance right in front of the goal in the 26th minute, but it got saved by the keeper.

Goalie Alli Popham registered three saves to secure the clean sheet for the Raiders.

Head Coach Lyndse Hokanson

"Genuinely excited that our season continues on. I'm happy to spend more time with this group, and I know they're excited for that time together too. So proud of our team for continuing to believe, sticking with it, and taking care of the moment presented to us tonight. This league is so hard, and every single game is very contested. To be able to now compete in postseason play is something this senior class is beyond worthy of, and I'm very happy for them. On to Baltimore!"
