WORCESTER, MASS. — Bailey Misken went the distance on Sunday afternoon, throwing 100 pitches and only allowing five hits and one walk when Colgate defeated Holy Cross, 1-0, to take two out of three in the season series. In her last five outings, Misken has been dominant in the circle boasting a 4-1 record with only three walked batters and an average of four strikeouts per game during that stretch.

"I was really happy with the way Bailey threw today," Head Coach Marissa Lamison-Myers said. "She was rock solid moving the ball in and out and using her change up in big moments. Now we have time to reset and get some much-needed rest before our final push."

At the plate, Jillian Herbst and Adrienne Nardone combined for five of the Raiders' six hits while Quinn Livesay added the other, an RBI double that scored the game's only run. 

With her three-for-four day, Herbst has now racked up a team-high 16 multi-hit games this season while Livesay improved her hitting streak to seven games with the game-changing two-bagger. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Colgate put two runners on in the first inning but stranded both as part of 10 runners left on base in the game. 

Holy Cross earned their first hit of the afternoon in the second but did not put a runner in scoring position until the third stanza when a walk and stolen base threatened Misken's shutout.

However, the Raider ace was unfazed, working out of the jam that gave way to the decisive fourth frame. 

Nardone singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch to start the inning for Colgate. Livesay lined a shot over the left fielder's head two batters later, delivering the game-winning run when Nardone scampered home on the play. 

Misken dialed in for the ensuing three innings, although she did run into trouble when a single and an error put runners on first and second with one out. No harm would come of it after the fifth-year calmly struck out the next hitter before forcing a line drive into the right-center gap, where Nora Megentiy made a nice play to kill the Crusaders' momentum. 

Misken went on to strike out the side in the seventh which capped her career-high fifth shutout and 14th complete game of the season.
