HAMILTON – Colgate University Head Swimming & Diving Coach Ed Pretre has named Kelsey Reagan as the program's new assistant coach.

HAMILTON – Colgate University Head Swimming & Diving Coach Ed Pretre has named Kelsey Reagan as the program's new assistant coach.

With nearly a decade of coaching experience at various levels, Reagan comes to Colgate after serving more than a year as the associate head coach at Youngstown State. During her time in Ohio, Reagan helped lead the men's and women's swimming and diving teams to new heights – including the best finishes at the Horizon League Championships for both programs in 2022-23.

"Coach Reagan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our program that should continue to help our teams climb up the ladder in the Patriot League. One of the main things that really stood out from the start in the interview process is Kelsey's natural ability to connect with people, especially her student-athletes. She is a very good coach and even a better person. We can't wait to get started with her at Colgate!"

In 2022-23, the men's and women's teams delivered their best finish in program history at the Horizon League Championships with each team placing fourth in team standings. The men's team recorded the most points in program history at the 2022-23 Horizon League Championships, and saw its first event winner a year earlier. The women's team delivered five podium finishes, including two champions, and had its first woman since 2018 to finish runner-up at the conference championships.

The success in 2022-23 led to Reagan's promotion to associate head coach after spending two years as the program's assistant swimming coach. She was the recipient of the coveted CSCAA Jean Freeman Scholarship in 2022, an award presented annually to six collegiate coaches whose exceptional contributions have brought recognition to their institution.

Before her time at Youngstown State, Reagan served as the swim coach at Wisconsin-Whitewater (2020-21). She also had assistant coaching stops at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where she served as a graduate assistant, and Gwinnett Aquatics.

Reagan was nominated for Emerging Coach of the Year in 2017. Her other coaching experiences include a three-year stint as an assistant swimming and diving coach at General McLane High School in Edinboro and a one-year position as assistant swim coach for the County YMCA Blue Dolphin Swim Team.

Reagan graduated with a bachelor's in health and physical education from Edinboro in 2016. She obtained her master's in teacher leadership from Edinboro in 2020.
