ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Methodical offense and dominant defense paced Colgate Volleyball to its fifth-straight win with a 3-0 sweep over Navy on Friday night at Wesley A. Brown Field House.

The defense held the Midshipmen to a .054 hitting clip with 28 kills and 23 errors, led by a season-high nine block assists from Lal Akin. As a team Colgate racked up 24 blocks with Milan Bayless adding six block assists and a team-high 13 kills.

COACH BAKER'S COMMENTS

"I was very pleased with our execution tonight. Navy is a very good team year in and year out.  We knew they would play hard and serve very well which they did. Our defensive effort was very good which allowed some good transition opportunities. We have another tough match tomorrow."
