Alasitas Festival Miniature-making
Friday, January 24, 2025 2:30–4:30 PM
Description
This event celebrates an Aymara festival that takes place annually in Bolivia and Peru. Participants will create miniature representations of their wishes for the year ahead and offer them to the Iqiqu (Ekeko) statuette, representing a deity of prosperity, in the Longyear Museum of Anthropology permanent collection. An installation will remain in Alumni Hall for additional offerings for the duration of the Alasitas festival.
