The CLTR is facilitating two sessions to assist faculty in exploring ideas and questions about AI in the classroom:How Are Students Using AI? (10-11 a.m.)This session will provide participants with the opportunity to share experiences and perspectives about the ways they have observed Colgate students using AI for academic purposes, both in ways that raise concern and in ways that support learning. Developing Guidelines of One’s Own (1-2 p.m.)Colgate’s baseline AI policy serves as a default policy prohibiting academic use of AI except in cases explicitly permitted by the instructor. Explore Moodle 4.5's new features to simplify course management and improve learning. This workshop covers course subsections, enhanced assignments (with automatic additional attempts) and improved notifications. We'll also look at new quiz options like reopening attempts and regrading, plus updates to bulk editing capabilities. This workshop is geared toward those who have used Moodle previously. If you are brand new to Moodle or would like a deeper dive, we recommend taking the 'Getting Started with Moodle' workshop. This will take place as a Zoom meeting. “Colgate Domains” provides faculty and students with a space on the web and access to digital tools for creating web content. Colgate Domains supports teaching and learning by enabling faculty and students make connections to other sources and media on the web, publish their work publicly, or create a forward-facing web presence for themselves or their project(s). This workshop will feature an overview of the principles of connected learning and demonstrate some uses of websites and tools found on Domains for teaching and learning. Ideas and recommendations for activity and assignment design for websites created in Colgate Domains will also be shared to inform potential collaborative course projects in Colgate Domains. New to Moodle or need a refresher? This workshop introduces you to Colgate's learning management system, focusing on how Moodle can enhance teaching and learning.
